If you're having trouble accessing your Google paid storage for Gmail, Google Docs, Picasa Web Albums or Blogger (for photos), please walk through the following troubleshooting steps:
Step 1: Make sure your purchase was successful
Successful purchase: Following a successful storage purchase, you'll receive an email confirmation from Google Checkout containing a Google Order Number specific to your purchase. In the confirmation email, click 'Get up-to-date information about order #[order number]' to verify your purchase was successful and move on to Step 2.
Failed purchase: If your credit card was declined, you'll receive an email notifcation from Google Checkout requesting that you update your credit card information within 7 days, during which time your order will be considered 'pending.' If you successfully update your credit card information within 7 days of receiving the notification message, any pending orders will resume automatically. If, after 7 days, you haven't provided valid credit card information, your order will be canceled. As it's not possible to reinstate canceled orders, you must purchase storage anew.
Visit the Google Checkout Help Center to view common credit card decline reasons.
Step 2: Wait 24 hours
There can be a delay of 24 hours before purchased storage becomes active in your account. Please allow 24 hours to pass before moving on to Step 3.
Step 3: Sign in and out of your Google Account
If 24 hours has elapsed and you don't see the additional Google storage reflected in your account, please follow these steps:
- Sign in to the Google Account product (Gmail, Docs, or Picasa Web Albums) for which you've purchased storage.
- Sign out and then sign back in.
Signing in and out should prompt the storage upgrade to take effect.
