Album Privacy: Changing album visibility

You can set your album visibility level when uploading a new album or change the visibility for existing albums at any time in Picasa and Picasa Web Albums. Adjust these visibility options to control the privacy of your albums.

In Picasa Web Albums

  • New albums: When you click the Upload button to create a new online album, you'll have the opportunity to set your preferred visibility level.
  • Existing albums: To change the visibility level of an existing album, follow these steps:
    1. When viewing all photos in your online album, click the Edit menu.
    2. Select Album Properties.
    3. Choose your preferred option in the 'Visibility of this album' section.

In Picasa

  • New albums: When using the Upload button in Picasa to create a new online album, choose your online album visibility in the 'privacy' section.
  • Existing albums: To change the visibility of existing online albums from within Picasa, choose the visibility level from the PWA settings drop-down menu to the right of the Share button in the folder or album header.
  • Default upload visibility: You can set a default visibility level for all new albums uploaded from Picasa. Follow these steps:
    1. Click the Tools menu in Picasa.
    2. Select Options.
    3. Click the Web Albums tab.
    4. Choose your preferred option in the 'Visibility for newly created web albums' section.
