What's New on Picasa Web Albums?
Check out some of the things we’ve recently launched.
We’re working hard to make Picasa Web Albums better, and to
add new features as quickly as possible. Is there a feature you’d
like to see? Let
us know!
Map your photos
See your photos arranged on a map, and show friends exactly where you took your best pictures. Simply type a location into the 'Place Taken' field when creating a new album, or refine a photo's placement using a drag-and-drop map. It's a great way to share photos from a summer vacation or road trip. For a quick peek at what results look like, check out our demo album.
Picasa Web Albums for mobile
devices
Take your favorite pictures with you everywhere. You can now
use your
mobile phone to see any picture you've posted to Picasa
Web Albums. You can even post comments on your friends' latest
photos.
Make that slideshow to go!
Create a portable Flash slideshow that you can embed in your blog
or any other web page, like MySpace. Simply go to an album,
click the "Embed
Slideshow" link, and copy and paste the HTML shown into your website.
The slideshow has built-in playback controls (just rollover to reveal),
and it gives you the ability to turn captions on or off and pick from
multiple sizes. Learn

Bigger photo uploads
We've doubled the size of the images you can upload - from 10MB to 20MB per image.
As always, you can still use Picasa to reduce
the file size of the photos you're uploading to Picasa Web Albums.
Picasa Web Albums data API
Now developers can create applications that build on content in their
Picasa Web Albums. This API lets your applications display, modify
and query Picasa Web Albums data. Learn
more and see example projects
Share photo albums in your instant messages
You can now share photo albums in your chats with the Google
Talk Gadget.
Paste a URL from Picasa Web Albums into your chat, and you can scroll
through a slideshow of the album right in your conversation.
Search community photos
Discover and explore public photos posted by others
in the Picasa Web Albums community. You can look up captions, tags,
album titles, album locations, and album descriptions. Search also
works across only My Photos or My Favorites if you're signed in.
More free storage
We've upped the free storage quota to 1GB (and counting!). That's
enough room to post and share around 4,000 standard resolution photos.
Need more storage space? Upgrade
Link to this album or photo
It's now easier to link to an album or photo from an email, IM, or
web page. Just copy and paste the url and/or HTML code we show you. Plus,
pick from four photos sizes for your web page.
View Blogger photos
All photos uploaded through Blogger now appear in My Photos. The
titles of these Blogger web albums match the titles of their respective
blog posts. Now the photos you use in both services can be managed
from one place. Learn
